ABOUT ME

Gentry The Journalist

Gentry Hale

For over a decade, I have been crafting stories from snowy peaks to luxury resorts, finding adventure and elegance at all corners of the map.

I studied environmental sustainability with a focus on land management and wildlife policy at the University of Utah, then earned a master’s in journalism from the University of Montana, shaping my early reporting around wildlife conservation, spanning from musk oxen in the Alaskan Arctic to ibex in Pakistan and the elk in my own backyard.

I worked as an editor at Bugle Magazine, before stepping away to follow a more restless path of freelance writing. Since, I have moved through 25 countries, reporting from high-altitude trails, remote ecosystems, breathtaking landscapes and some of the world's most luxurious hotels.

My work is guided by a fixation on movement, risk, passion and stepping just beyond my comfort zone. My writing has appeared in hundreds of websites and publications worldwide.
